L-Net has undertaken the coordination and acted as an interpreter for the research team of architects led by Professor Gihei Takahashi and Professor Maiko Sugawara from Toyo University between 23 and 25 November. Their project on the London Paralympics legacy aims to find out how the 2012 Paralympics has impacted on the living environments and facility maintenance for the people with disabilities, and whether there have been further improvements in the support activities by the Greater London Authority and disability organisations. The team members are also involved in the advisory committee for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics. L-Net arranged interviews with Transport for London, disability support organisations such as Disability Rights UK and Leonard Cheshire Disability and academic institutions such as the Global Disability Innovation Hub. The team was able to obtain useful findings.
